LINCOLN || Daniel Day Lewis is one of the best actors of our generation and if he isn’t recognized for his performance as Abraham Lincoln (merely from seeing the trailer), I will be disappointed. Steven Spielberg continues his historical-feel dramas with this latest presidential film, following up last year’s “War Horse”. What will probably prove to be more successful, I look forward to seeing everyone’s part in this film.	THEATER
	A ROYAL AFFAIR || I am growing more and more a fan of Mads Mikkelson with each of his films and he appears to be the best part of this newest release, “A Royal Affair”, yet another love triangle period piece, with kings and queens. Mikkelson would be the only reason I’d sit down to watch this film, that is, unless the growing press is true regarding the strong potential that this film will be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Feature. 	SKYFALL || What I would consider the best James Bond film yet, “Skyfall” does for the 007 series, what “The Dark Knight” did for the Batman series. Daniel Craig officially proves to me that he is the Bond to beat all Bonds, carrying himself in a way that reflects every actor that carried this role before him, while producing a depth unseen in any portrayal prior. Javier Bardem resurrects the spirit of his “No Country For Old Men” villain in his performance of Silva, an ex-agent, now looking for revenge. Top that off with a new Q in the brilliantly talented Ben Whishaw and a subtle yet exciting performance from Ralph Fiennes, and “Skyfall” produces some of the best performances to-date. “Skyfall” dares to tone the film down to a personal level, where the stakes are no longer the entire world, but remain much more close to the heart. Emotion pours out of this film, helped wholly by the stunning cinematography from Roger Deakins and the captivating screenplay, with much more emotion and much more invested than previous installments. What feels like an unofficial reboot to the franchise, any level of Bond fanboy will be enthralled by the multiple layers of past Bond references, while experiencing something so new and refreshing in this 50 year old franchise.

	28 HOTEL ROOMS || “28 Hotel Rooms” looks amazing! Not only do I extremely enjoy Chris Messina in all that he does, but the sensual and conflicting plot that he takes part in with the ever beautiful Marin Ireland, looks brilliant, not-to-mention the gorgeous cinematography and the 180 degree twist in the trailer that hooked me into absolutely seeing this film. In fact, this goes straight to the top of films I need to see this year.	RENT
	BEN LEE: CATCH MY DISEASE || A documentary built around not the most interesting person in the world, the singer-songwriter Ben Lee, the fact that the people surrounding him throughout his life are fairly interesting, including Claire Danes, Jason Schwartzman, and Winona Ryder, leads me to somewhat want to see this film, especially with all the actual footage involved.	STREAM
	CHASING ICE || The trailer-makers on this film sure are making a big deal about seeing this film in the theaters. What looks like a mix between an informative documentary and an IMAX nature special, the visuals on this film do look amazing and getting to see what photographer James Balog will do to get his photos looks exquisite and I will definitely be looking into it.	STREAM
	CITADEL || The trailer-makers on this film sure are making a big deal about seeing this film in the theaters. 	THE COMEDY || Seeing the comedy duo of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim in a serious, dark comedic film is something I will definitely have to see. Raved about by critics, there is definitely something to this film that needs to be seen to be understood.	RENT
	DANGEROUS LIASIONS || Yet another adaptation of the story “Dangerous Liaisons” (another being “Cruel Intentions”), this foreign film has the look and feel of a high quality film, a high caliber foreign cast, and the attention shown to the closing graphic of this trailer sealed the deal for me probably catching this film when it becomes available.	STREAM
	IN THEIR SKIN || “In Their Skin” is nothing we haven’t seen before, with home invasion thrillers and “I want your life” stalker scenarios, but the visual presentation along with some interesting casting keeps this film afloat, for the most part. Though I often teeter on enjoying Selma Blair, I will probably give this film the benefit of the doubt.	STREAM
	LUV || In June, I had an opportunity to see this film in a pre-screening but decided to pass. Although it probably would have been worth the 2 hours spent for a free film, there isn’t much going for this film. Common is becoming a great actor and he highlights this film of mostly African American actors, including Danny Glover and Megan Good. But with a watered-down story with a lackluster twist, all this film has is its emotion.	STREAM
	NATURE CALLS || On one hand, I’m impressed that this toilet-bowl of a story attracted such well-known comedians like Patton Oswalt, Rob Riggle, and Johnny Knoxville. On the other hand, I am extremely disappointed that they are spending their time in a film like “Nature Calls”, which is not funny, has a paper thin plot, and is simply unwatchable as far as I’m concerned.	PASS
	STARLET || I want to like this film. It is a heartfelt independent feature, with many sincere themes, as a young woman finds tons of money in a thermos she buys from a very old lady and in struggling whether to tell her or not, she begins a friendship with the old woman, as her other life begins to impede. There’s something missing in this film though. Maybe it’s the void of a strong female lead, as the place holder delivers cold and lifeless lines, or the void of any real, strong emotion, besides pity for the elderly woman in the film. Whatever it is, I just can’t bring myself to seeing this film.	PASS
